3 c. pitted pie cherries
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. red food coloring
1/2 tsp. almond extract
4 Tb. corn starch
1 heaping Tb. tapioca
Drain cherries if canned or frozen. Bring juice to a boil and add tapioca, sugar, extract, food coloring. Use enough water to mix cornstarch (3 Tb.). Add to boiling juice. Cook until thick. Add cherries. Put into an unbaked 9 inch pie shell.
Streusel Topping
2 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. melted butter
Sprinkle streusel topping over cherries and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
