Caring
by Barbara Philbrook

Caring is putting the thoughts of another ahead of your own,
caring is knowing someone's in pain or feeling alone.

Caring is when another's pain hurts you too,
and seeking to relieve it is what you want to do.

Caring is seeing sadness and wanting to send it packing,
wanting to provide the happiness that is lacking.

Caring is living life so as to be useful and kind,
a life that will leave love and good memories behind.

Caring is a call made when the thought comes in,
not putting it off and perhaps never having the chance again.

Caring is learning I may help somehow,
then going into action doing something right now.

Caring is listening to the Lord's still quiet voice,
and offering to teach others there is a choice.

Caring is seeking the Holy Spirit's direction,
and following His leading without objection.

Caring is what I wish always to be,
Lord please make a caring person out of me.
