Count It All Joy
by Barbara Philbrook

Count it all joy as you face life's every trial,
whether you are shedding tears or wearing a smile.

Count it all joy how can you ask this of me,
I'm being torn to shreds can't you see?

My heart is aching the pain is immense,
the trials I'm facing are so intense.

Loved ones gone, not a word from them,
fears in me that I'll never see them again.

Being sick, having pain that never lets up,
God it is hard to accept what is in my cup.

It is difficult to face each day and not complain,
but to count it as joy while tears my cheeks stain.

Father God I do not understand but I am willing to do as you say,
this is a place where I must constantly pray.

I'll count it all Joy if you will give me the grace I need,
from the moment it is given I will onward proceed.

I will count it all joy though may not always smile,
I will Praise your name never again feeling denial.

I may not always understand all that you ask me to do,
but Heavenly Father I comply because  your Love is so true.

I'll count it all Joy no matter how tough it continues to be,
because Dear Father your grace is sufficient for me.
