God's Family
by Barbara Philbrook

This is what the dictionary said,
Family: The collective body of persons who form a household under one head.

I found it cold and analytical rather blasé,
so I opened my Bible to see what it had to say.

There are verses to tell us how we are to act,
directions to fathers, mothers and children are quite exact.

The do's and the don'ts to tell us how to get along,
and a promise that obedient children's days will be long.

But nothing exceptional seemed to catch my eye,
so I went to God to ask Him why.

The Family Of God is what matters most,
we should be telling about it coast to coast.

Explaining how we're adopted when we accept salvation,
becoming at once an immediate relation.

Becoming a brother to God's very own Son,
while instantaneously changes within are begun.

We are now heirs to God's perfect domain,
our Father and Jesus' Father one and the same.

Our Family here on Earth is practice you see,
for how we'll live in Heaven for eternity.

Live with the Family Of God as always planned,
when we were formed in the palm of His hand.

God the Father Head of the Family guiding the way,
each child lovingly willingly striving to obey.

There will be no conflicts or confrontation,
God will have with each one of us a perfect relation.

No one will be jealous or envy another,
each will have perfect love for every single brother.

Life here on this Earth will never be perfect you see,
so share the joy of being part God's  Family.

Reach out to those hurting and alone,
share with them the truth that you've already been shown.

Invite them to partake in the eternal revelry,
by accepting salvation and joining God's Family.
