How Deep Is This Valley?
by Barbara Philbrook

How deep is this valley Lord into which you have bid me to go,
the path is not easy to walk on and the reasons for this journey are only for you to know.

I fear not that I will succeed lord you would not have sent me if the way were too tough,
and I need not know the why " that you sent me is enough."

Forgive me my shortcomings and help me to remember that your Spirit in me does abide,
help me to always remember that where I am you are by my side.

And when doubt starts to come my way as I'm sure it will try to do,
just give me a nudge in the right direction so I may continue to serve you.

No matter how deep the valley Lord I wish to continue on,
I'm as sure you have a purpose as I am  that following the night's darkness you will send a new dawn.

As I look back over our journey Lord and the trials that you have brought me through,
I wonder  how I could even for a second hesitate to go as you have directed me to.

Lord thank you for loving me so much  that you've revealed to me the salvation plan,
and please help to be like the scripture saying  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I know I can, I know I can, I know I can."
