It's All
Uphill
by
Barbara Philbrook
It's all
uphill and I know the way is rough.
If it were possible I'd carry you through this stuff.
I can ache
inside and feel torn apart,
as I commiserate with you deep in my heart.
I can
offer you to the Lord in prayer,
and apologize to you because I'm not right there.
I can cry
myself to sleep at night,
and wish good things for you with all of my might.
I can
resolve to do all that one who loves you can do,
but none of this is enough in my view.
I can tell
you where I got the strength to face my plight.
What eased me through the dark of night.
I can tell
you how when I couldn't stand on my own,
a secret for success I was lovingly shown.
I can
point you in the right direction you see,
but the final choice is not up to me.
It is you
who must decide that you desire the same,
then you simply call on Jesus' name.
All who
seek are assured they will find,
and you will be given indescribable peace of mind.
Jesus is
the way to face life I've been shown.
One can not be strong enough all on their own.
So call
out to Jesus, He's awaiting your plea.
Then you'll be blessed with the same strength as me.
It's all
uphill. The way is rough on one's own,
but through Jesus' love, sufficient grace we are shown.
