Listen My Child
by Barbara Philbrook

Listen my child and you will hear,
of the love of your Savior who holds you most dear.

Satan wants you to feel unloved, unworthy and sad,
so he has blocked out the good words and enhanced the bad.

He's made you hear only the words of shame and scorn,
He's made you wish you were never born.

But listen my child you are special in God's sight,
and if you invite Him inside, He will make it all be right.

He will give you the self esteem to make you shine,
He's knocking at your heart, offering what's thine.

He has made provision for everything you need,
so whatever you choose to do you will succeed.

He has laid a course for your life to traverse,
that will make a laughing stock of Satan's curse.

He has a mansion built in which you will reside,
having reached the ultimate in life a feeling of inner pride.

You will walk with your head held up no feelings of disgrace,
wearing a look of contentment on your face.

Listen my child, your Savior holds you in very high esteem,
and if you invite Him inside, you'll understand what I mean.

Your life is precious and so child are you,
ask God to open up your understanding so you'll know it's true.

You have an opportunity to become all you want to be,
God will prove it, you needn't believe me.

Listen my child and you will hear,
Jesus is telling you that you are most precious and dear.

Listen my child because there is a choice that must be made,
before you can start on the journey for which Jesus has paid.

The choice can be made by none other than you,
and the choice you make will determine all that you do.

Jesus is knocking at your heart's door,
won't you open up and invite Him in forevermore?
