No Knob On The Door
by Barbara Philbrook

Have you seen the painting of Jesus knocking on the door?
There are many copies around. Millions, maybe more.

Have you noticed that there is no knob for you to see?
It's a door that can only be opened by me.

Opened or not, it is controlled from inside,
where Jesus is seeking to come and abide.

The painting represents the doorway to our heart,
where if we allow it, a new relationship will start.

We are being offered a personal relationship with our Savior,
despite our despicable and sinful behavior.

He died on the cross that you and I might live.
He loves us so much His own life He did give.

But that love is so unconditional and true,
that He will not force it's acceptance on you.

The choice is ours. We each must make it on our own.
This is the revelation the painting has shown.

You alone are the keeper of your heart's door.
Won't you open it to what Jesus has in store?

Open the door to His beckoning, open it wide.
Invite Jesus in to forever abide.

Accepting your salvation and all it does entail,
is as easy as opening the door. You can not fail.

No knob on the door but you are in control.
Only you can decide what becomes of your soul.
