Not By Your Strength
by Barbara Philbrook

Not by your strength, not standing on your own,
but by the grace of God is what we've been shown.

God does not expect you to give up or cave in,
instead He wants you to lean on Him.

Bring Him your burden and leave it there.
He is waiting to recieve it, He really does care.

Though you may not feel His presence it can be known.
The truth of this the Bible has shown.

We are told that during trials and adversity,
God is perfecting our character you see.

We know not which troubles we'll face each day,
but we can determine to do it in a dignified way.

Not wasting time to worry or fret,
because God is our strength on this we can bet.

So adjust your makeup, put on a smile,
let's give God the glory as we go that extra mile.

Not by your strength nor your might,
but with songs of praise that fill the night.
