Nursing
by Barbara Philbrook

Nursing is a profession which requires tenderness and love,
a special kind of caring issued from God above.

A strong dedication to care for those who need a helpful hand,
a sympathetic heart that tends to understand.

An ability to focus on the need of one who might not be in a very friendly mood,
an awareness that the body requires more to mend than the nourishment of food.

The strength to withstand the anger and fear of one not in the best of health,
and an appreciation that our rewards in life are not always those of wealth.

The rewards that we receive when we are finally home with our Lord,
are often given for the deeds we do for which no one ever will applaud.

The difference you make in lives may not be recorded daily on your time sheet,
but they will be acclaimed in heaven when your  loving Savior you meet.

May God be with you in each day's endeavor,
and may we meet at the gates of Heaven where God  intends us to be with him for ever.

May God watch over each of  you in a very special way,
is the thing that I ask for as I bow my head to pray.
