The Sin of Pride
by Barbara Philbrook

Sin of pride be removed from me,
from within every crevice and cavity.

I desire to surrender all that I am,
to serve my heavenly Father as much as I can.

I desire a heart that's pure through and through,
that I may one day see God's glory that He wants me to view.

I can not do the cleansing that's needed.
I could only invite the Lord in as I knelt and pleaded.

I asked Him to accept all of me,
and change me into what He wants me to be.

I sought the truth and acted on faith.
He entered my heart, there was no wait.

I now belong to Jesus, God's only Son.
He died on the cross and the victory He won.

He's doing the work inside my heart,
and promised He'd not stop what He was quick to start.

I'm being changed by the One I chose to reside
deep in my heart where sin used to hide.

Sin of pride you'd want me to boast,
but all the changing's being done by the Holy Ghost.
