Things That Please Me
by Barbara Philbrook

In a time when everything appears to be wild,
I can have hope as the heavenly Father's child.

The older that I get to be,
the shorter the time till Jesus' face I will see.

Knowing God created things of beauty for me,
so I could marvel at those I'm fortunate enough to see.

That God has given me a heart that cares about others,
I think of mankind as my brothers.

The unconditional love on the face of a child,
it reminds me that my Savior's love is just as undefiled.

The scent of flowers on a new spring day,
so refreshing as they cause me to thank God in a special way.

Trials because they help my character to grow,
a fact my Bible has helped me to know.

The reaction of people as I share the story of our Savior,
and the confidence He provides so I have this behavior.

The knowledge one day I'll go home with Him at last,
then all the pain of this life will be in the past.

That by sharing all of these facts with you,
then you may choose Him as your Savior too.
