Two Little Girls
by Barbara Philbrook

Two little girls feeling alone and afraid.
Two little girls for whom I have prayed.

Having been hurt by the love they've been shown,
unable to count on the adults they've known.

Two little girls a world apart,
but each of them are loved deep in my heart.

Knowing pain and suffering beyond their ages,
life having been rough through each of it's stages.

Facing things that should not be,
and too far away to be embraced by me.

Father I entrust them both into Your loving arms,
please send Your angels to keep them from harm.

I know their lives must go the course set by You,
but I pray that You will give each the grace to see them through.

I know their character is being formed day by day,
and I wouldn't interfere in that in any way.

But my heart aches for the suffering they face,
and into Your loving hands each of them I place.

Father please give me any words that I could say,
that would make their lives brighter in any way.

Help me to guide them to You and Your Grace,
so they are assured that what ever comes they can face.

Help me to draw them closer indeed,
so that they come to You when they have a need.

Two little girls a world apart,
yet each one is so special deep in my heart.
