This was taken in the winter of 1997. While visiting my parents in Arizone we took a day trip to the Grand Canyon. A picture is worth a thousand words but that doesn't capture the grandeur of this site.

MY FAVORITE RECIPE RED CAKE 1 1/2 Stick oleo 2 1/4 c sugar cream together add 2 eggs , 1 t salt , 1 1/2 t vanilla , 2 onces red food coloring , mix well Mix in a small bowl 1 T cocoa , and 2 1/2 c flour add this alternately with 1 1/2 c butter milk to creamed mixture. mix well then fold in 1 1/2 t soda and 1 1/2 t vinegar which has been stirred together. DO NOT BEAT pour into 3 round pans 2 8 inchpans 1 9 inch pan and bake on bottom rack at 350 30 mins frosting: 1/2 c flour , 1 cup milk , and dash of salt cook till thick and cool beat in 1 c sugar , 1 c crisco shortening until light and fluffy and add 2 t vanilla mix well now this is the best darn cake there is and you must send one piece to me!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, for those of you who wonder why I have the name khudo, here he is. I bought this guy for $150. He was a two year old stud and got lucky once before the knife got him.He turned out to be a nice saddle horse and quite a pet. He now lives over in LeMars in knee deep grass and so fat he can't hardly walk. Never gets rode.
