Pleasures ~ Spirit, Soul and Body ~ We should live a life of joy, peace, laughing. Biblically, the flesh means wrong attitudes goals and priorities.

Pleasures of the spirit are wisdom-truth, love, and power-virtue. Seeing the beauty in truth.

Soul pleasures are music, beauty, wit, gracious speech, work, productivity, and craftsmanship.

Body pleasures are food, dining, health, comforts, things shared, sex. OBEDIENCE

Righteous sensuality: Fully enjoying pleasures in the beauty of God. God's will must be ahead of pleasures. Obedience should be our chief pleasure. It is OK to pray for and enjoy pleasures of the spirit, soul and body, if we can sacrifice it all for the pleasure of obedience. Obedience is our first joy. If God calls you to be rich, you can't be happily poor. He calls us to be responsible. Evil gives pain. Love gives pleasure. You can bring someone pleasure by the way you look at them, and by the way you look.

The Process May sound phony at first. It may be awkward and gross people out. Eventually we can see and compliment people on the spot. What makes that person feel praised? Pray to see good in others Write it down and tell them Include details and specific examples Give lots of praise. If God says He is pleased with us it brings us pleasure. We are God's mouthpiece to others. It is not wrong to like praise. It is wrong to like the praise of man more that the praise of God. When brothers and sisters compliment you, who do you think it is coming from? GodLove keeps a list of good but not evil. Lists help retrain the mind. We need 7 times as much praise as correction. Sometimes it feel like lying, but it is really truth.

3/20/94 Are you fun to live with? SOS 4:9-5:1 You have ravished my heart, My sister, my spouse. You have ravished my heart, with one look of your eyes, with one link of your necklace. How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love. And the scent of your perfumes than all spices! Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb. Honey and milk are under your tongue, and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon. A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse. A spring shut up. A fountain sealed.

Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with pleasant fruits. Fragrant henna with spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices - a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. Awake, O north wind, and come, O south! Blow upon my garden that its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden and eat its pleasant fruits. I have come to my garden, my sister, my spouse. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey. I have drunk my wine with my milk.

The way you look at someone, and the way you look, can bring pleasure. (Cultivate it.) Be childlike and free to express your feelings. The way you dress should be an act of love. We must be willing to give and receive pleasure.

Luke 16:9 Use possessions to bless others.
I Thessalonians 3:6 Pleasant memories long for.
Ephesians 5:29 Care for the body.

When my spouse goes on vacation, am I the one she wants to go with? Treasures are pleasures. Laughter promotes conversation. Take life seriously but not without humor. Love delights to give pleasure. Evil delights to give pain.

Being fun ~ You have to do enough to accomplish the goal (critical mass).
1. Change home environment more than once a week
2. Smile.
3. Give details when you compliment someone.
4. You are judged with the judgement you give.
5. Immediacy ~ Don't force people to assume the best. Volunteer the explanation (courteously). Build intimacy, closeness, trust.
6. Have a sense of adventure.
7. Honest communication.
8. Common sense of purpose.
9. Responsibility.
10. Make traditions.
11. Respect other person's goal.
12. Share domestic duties.

"Yes" spirit: The attitude of Jesus is "Yes!" and "Amen!" We should have that attitude about bringing others pleasure. A "no" spirit is a religious spirit. Our initial response to God and people should be "Yes, how can we accomplish this?" If it is impractical, impossible, or immoral, that will be exposed in the discussion. We need a willing spirit. "No" is defensive.
