!Traditional naming pattern suggests that his name might be John. !He was supposedly a remittance man from Northern Ireland. He took the blame for something his older brother, the inheritor, had done and ran away to America to escape prosecution. The name 'Remittance Man' came from the fact that these men were paid by their families to disappear in the "wilds of America".

Keith married Abigail KIBBE, daughter of Edward KIBBE and Abiah (Abi) MORSE. (Abigail KIBBE was born on 18 Jul 1736 in Holliston, Middlesex, Massachusetts, christened on 18 Jul 1736 and died in 1815 in Naples, Ontario, New York.)
