!DEATH:Copied from the Lewiston Morning Tribune dated Dec. 10, 1918-Death of C. G. Powers. C. G. Powers, aged 40, died at St. Joseph's Hospital yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock from pneumonia, developing after an attack of Spanish Influenza contracted about one week ago. Mr. Powers was removed to St. Joseph's Hospital Sunday after a several days' confinement at Emergency Hospital. The deceased came to Lewiston about two weeks ago from Flora, Oregon, where he was employed as a blacksmith, his trip to this city being in the nature of a visit. The family home is at Yakima, Washington, and Mrs. Powers and their two children, girls, aged 7 and 4 years, arrived here a few days ago in response to a message telling of Mr. Powers' illness. The body will be buried in the Lewiston Cemetery this morning at 10 o'clock, the funeral being conducted from Vassar Chapel. NOTE: The article indicated that his family home was in Yakima Wa. and that his family arrived in Lewiston a few days previously in response to a message regarding his health. This is not true as he had been separated from his wife and two daughters for some time, having abandoned them. (This information is from his daughter, Ruth Fordyce)
