FRIENDSHIP
People come and people go
Nothing stays the same,
But friendship is enduring
Dianne and Joni are their names.
We met while we were in Germany
And hit it off right away,
A friendship made in heaven
There's nothing else to say
For either I'd do anything
I'd give them my last dime,
For me they'd surely do the same
Any palce, any time.
Through circumstances beyond our control
We are miles and miles apart,
But I still hold each one of them
In a corner of my heart.
No one could ever replace
What the three of us share,
No words need to be spoken
To show how much we care.
First Dianne left our trio
And left Joni and me behind,
She may have been out of sight
But never out of mind.
MY turn was next in line
To return to the U S of A,
It was hard for me to do
Because Joni had to stay.
Now we are all back in the states
Using telephones to communicate,
Someday we'll see each other again
We've yet to set a date.
I love them both more than anything
Can't wait to see them again,
The joy that it will bring
Because they TRULY ARE MY FRIENDS.
