Other Poems and Unfinished Stories
Written by Brandon Lloyd Age 13

CHILDREN
Children who are weak and small
think they are invincible
they have their life all planned ahead
you blink an eye and POOF they're dead

They go to a better place
where they're not judged by their race
everyone's treated just the same
and they're no suffering or pain

WINTER
Stones are wrapped with white snow
Greyness is everywhere you go

All the creatures
With their frozen facial features

It's a frost bitten zoo
But it won't last the whole year through

The heaters on full blast
How'd they survive back in the past

Fingers are frozen numb
I'd hate to be a homeless bum

The clouds are closing in
And boy are you in for a spin

Snow put out the fire
Just when it was getting higher

I watched the ashes hiss
And wondered what dread force did this

The house was dark and damp
So I turned on the closest lamp

Some light shone round the room
It was still cold and full of gloom

SPRING
Flowers of the rainbow
all colors and shades

The birds and the bees
fly every which way

The squirrels and the chipmunks
so happy and gay

The flowers like arms
reaching toward the sum

The fishes splash splash
like kids having fun

And raccoons walk slyly
watching everyone

The shells are all scattered

across the vast shores

You look up in the sky
you see seagulls soar

Rocks are natures carpet
they cover it's floors

When natures around you
life is never a bore

THE SUN
He waks up every morning
stretches out his long arms
peeks in every windo
he's natures alarm
if you don't wear sunscreen
your skin he will harm
he's made out of heat
he keeps us all warm
he makes a long rainbow
after each storm.

SUMMER DAZE
The sun's heat shines upon your face
Can't help but feel it's warm embrace.
The fan is blowing cold and cool
Your lucky that you have no school.

The ground is on fire
Not fast and your fried.
The AC wouldn't go higher
No matter how hard you tried.

Your sweat is so slick
You could use it to cook.
Don't need any butter sticks
Cook some bass try chinook.

You could swim in the pool
when it gets way too hot.
It keeps you real cool
Yea man it's the spot.

The sun's heat shines upon your face
Can't help but feel it's warm embrace.
The fan is blowing cold and cool
Your lucky that you have no school.

AUTUMN
You feel the wind blow
You can hear the crunch crunch of leaves
It is now Autumn

COLD
The water's near frozen
you're cold to the bone

you're teeth are chattering
like clogs on wood floors

you can't see it coming
but the cold creeps on

the bugs are just buzzing
they're laughing at you

it's just a winter night
in my swimming pool.

THE EARTH'S BLANKET
Clouds like cotton
floating on silk
many colored birds
all flying high

Not just telephone guys
can see this grand sight
people from farms
can see it too

When night rolls in
and the sun dies away
you can see all the stars
and the moon looks at you

The people from cities
can't see very much
deserts have no smog
the stars seem more bright

The sky's everchanging
the clouds cease to stop
they make different shapes
that change before your eyes

An unobstructed view
is what the trees have
they're the home of the birds
and they live in the air

Chicken Little says it's falling
and it holds all the rain
but it doesn't matter where you are
because it's everywhere

There will only be one sky.
