THOMAS TUCKER OF PLUMPTON 1628

In the name of God amen, Anno Domini 1627 the 18th day of May 1627, I Thomas Tucker of "Plomton" in the county of Northampton, yeoman, being sick in body but of good and perfect remembrance, doth make this my last will and testament in manner and form following

Imprimis I do bequeath my soul unto the Almighty God trusting in his mercies through Christ Jesus to be saved eternally and my body to be buried in Christian manner

I give to the church of Plumpton at my decease 3s 4d

Item I give to my son John Tucker £3 of good and lawful money of England to be paid one year after my decease, unto the said John Tucker or his assigns

Item I give to my son Thomas Tucker 1s of good and current money of England to be paid one year after my decease

Item I give to my eldest daughter "Jonne" SWETMAN £5 of good and current money of England, to be paid 20s at my decease, 20s every year after, till the five pounds be all paid, to the said Jonne Swetman or her assigns

Item I give to my daughter Ane MILBORN £2 of good and current money of England to be paid her one year after my decease unto the said Ane Milborn or her assigns

Item I give to my daughter Ales RICHARDS one shilling to be paid at my decease

Item I give to my daughter Constance SHELSWELL 1s to be paid at my decease

Item I give to my daughter Mary Tucker £15 of good and current money of England, and one coffer and one pair of sheets, one brass pot that is used and the least brass pan, this is to be paid the one half two years after my decease and the other half four years after my decease unto the said Mary Tucker or her assigns

Item I give to my youngest daughter Elizabeth GARNER one pair of sheets and the least brass pot and one brass pan which is the least but one, this is to be paid one year after my decease unto the said Elizabeth Garner or her assigns, but if the said Mary Tucker or Elizabeth Garner do die before their stocks be paid them, that their stocks remain amongst the rest of the brothers and sisters

Item I give to my daughter Sibbell COKES her children £3, which is to say to her daughter Dorothy Cokes 20s within one year after my decease, and to her son Edward Cokes 20s at the years of one and twenty and to Elizabeth "Cookes" 20s at the years of one and twenty

Item I give to Edward Cokes father of the said children one shilling

Item I give to my two goddaughters 3s apiece to be paid at my decease

Item I give to my sons and daughters children, every one of them, 3s 4d apiece to be paid at my decease

Item I give to Thomas HANWELL 4d to be paid at my decease

Item I give to Thomas BRADFORD 4d to be paid at my decease. And also for divers good causes and considerations I do give to my eldest son William Tucker all my goods moveable and unmoveable which are unbequeathed and all my cattle and also all my whole estate of my "lifing and lese which I now life in" [living and lease which I now live in], all the which I give to the said William my eldest son in present possession and thereof I do make him my whole and sole executor. In witness whereof I have caused this my last will and testament to be made and have thereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written

I do appoint Mathew Shelswell and John Tucker to be overseers of this my will

In the sight and presence of  John BIGGER  Frances MARTIN her mark
