July 17 -- 2 months, 1 day -- Matt had his 2-month well baby visit. His weight was up to 13 lbs., 11-1/2 oz, and his length was 23-1/4 inches! The doctor said he's doing very well and should continue his schedule of nursing on demand! He also got his first round of immunizations -- IPV/OPV, DTaP, Hep B, Hib, and Prevnar. His next well-baby visit will be September 16.

July 9 -- 7 weeks, 5 days -- Our first sick visit. Matt hadn't been sleeping well, had a stuffy nose, and his eyes looked sunken in. So we went to the doctor (Mommie is a worry wart! Dylan was sick as a baby!) and Matt was diagnosed with a stomach virus (gastronitis). No medicine will help -- it has to run it's course. But sick or not, Matt gained weight! He weighed in at 13 lbs., 4 oz. when he was completely naked!

June 26 -- 5 weeks, 6 days -- No doctor's appointment, but we went to a breastfeeding support group at the hospital. Wearing only a fresh diaper, Matt weighed 12 lbs., 7 oz.!

June 10 -- 25 days old -- Matt went to the doctor a couple of days early because big brother was sick and had to go. His weight was up to 10 lbs., 12 oz.! He measured 22 inches long! He's very healthy! He goes again on July 17 to get his first set of immunizations.

May 29 -- 13 days old -- Matthew's weight was up to 9 lbs., 7-1/4 oz. The doctor said that's excellent! Again, he described Matthew as "perfect." Our next appointment is June 12.

May 22 -- 6 days old -- Matthew's weight was down to 8 lbs., 14-1/2 oz., but the doctor said that's normal. Otherwise, he said Matthew was "perfect" healthwise. Since we're breastfeeding, Matthew has to go back on May 29 for a weight check. The only ways to tell if a breastfed baby is gaining weight is through wet diapers, messy diapers, and weight gain. Matthew definitely has two of the three mastered! LOL!
