We Found Timmy!
On September 15, 1999, Laura took a stab at what Tim's email might be if he had email on the Army base in Korea. We waited and waited, and figured we were wrong. Then, on September 21 HE RESPONDED! Laura read the email with skepticism, thinking someone was playing a joke. Here's the text:
Laura's email to Tim
I have no idea if this email will make it through to anyone, but
on the off chance that I have reached Timothy Michael Gill from
Massachusetts I'll continue.
My husband is Allen Ullmann, whom I believe to be your brother. If so, please email me back! I don't know if you are interested in having contact with him or any other members of your birth family and I know this is probably coming out of the blue. In any case, your brothers and sisters, and Joyce, would love to at least know that you are alive and well. I have created a website that has a lot of pictures if you are at least curious about what everyone is like. I'm happy to email you confidentially if you have questions or anything. I'm adopted too so I understand the mixed up crazy feelings involved.
I hope I have reached the right person, and if so, would you please at least email me back to let me know that I have reached you?
Thank you!
Your sister-in-law (hopefully!)
Laura Ullmann
Tim's email back on 9/21/99
Guess who !!! This is Tim. I would love to keep in contact with
all of you. I have been searching myself for all of you. I
finished 8 years in the Army and I now work as a Security Manager
for the US Government in Korea. I got married on 25 May 1995. My
wife's name is Boo Jah and I have been here since January of
1993. I study martial arts and have a Second Degree Black Belt in
Hapkido and a First Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing.
I have had a copy of the picture you have that shows all of us in a line when I was a baby hanging on my wall everywhere I went and I have always dreamt of the day when we would all be able to meet again.
I attached a picture of myself I hope you can open it. I f not I can mail some pictures of my wife an I. I apologize for the picture quality but it is the only picture I had on me at the time. It was taken the day after one of my kickboxing tournaments so my face is still a little red. (I won the match of course)
Your prodigal baby brother,
Tim
Here are a couple of pictures:
