John B. Locke enlisted in the army at 16 yrs. of age. He was at once taken to the front and fought in some of the bloodiest battles of the war. He was captured and taken prisoner in Tylor,Texas, where he remained for 10 months. A mere skeleton when liberated from prison, his will was not daunted and he came home to do his share in rebuilding the broken republic.
