
ROUTINES, PROCEDURES,
SCHEDULES
Establishing routines and procedures during the first weeks of the new school
year takes time. Students need to see, hear, and practice routines
such as lining up, paper flow, bathroom breaks, sharpening pencils, etc.
Be consistent. Establish procedures and teach them ONE AT A TI

SCHEDULES:
Schedules should not be too rigid to miss a great teachable moment. An
example of a schedule is provided on the page called
"Schedules". As students become adjusted to the new room, grade,
and teacher, more may be added to the daily schedule. Some common elements
