           Spider Song

   Tune: Farmer in the Dell

    Speedy Spider Song

       Tune:  Oh, Susanna

     Spin little spider spin,

     Spin little Spider spin,

Up and down and all around.

     Spin little spider, spin.

     Crawl little spider, crawl.

     Crawl little spider, crawl.

     Up down and all around.

     Crawl little spider, crawl.

Catch bugs, little spider catch bugs.

Catch bugs little spider, catch bugs.

   Up down and all around.

Catch bugs little spider, catch bugs.

Eat bugs little spider, eat bugs.

Eat bugs little spider, eat bugs.

   Up down and all around.

Eat bugs little spider, eat bugs.

I was sitting in my room one day

When it walked right through the door,

A big spider sped right by me, and went racing through the door.

(Chorus)

Oh that spider, Oh how it scared me so.

But spiders can be good friends.

And so I let it go.

I watched it crawl up the wall,

To find a spot just right,

It spun a web so beautiful,

And then went out of sight.

           (Chorus)

Now bug and flies do not scare me,

For I know that it is true,

That a spider web is good to have,

Bugs stick to it like glue.

             (Chorus)

                                 Spider's Are Our Friends

                     (Tune:  Adams Family)

                        Words By: B. Sarah Froehlich,M.Ed

S-P-I-D-E-R (snap, snap), S-P-I-D-E-R (snap, snap)

           S-P-I-D-E-R, S-P-I-D-E-R, S-P-I-D-E-R (snap, snap)

A spider spins a silk web,

Upon which to rest its little head,

There it will sit and patiently wait,

With legs that count to eight.

                                     (Chorus)

His eight eyes may be weak

But he can feel things as they creep

                              Insects by the bunch,

Stuck in its sticky web for lunch.

                                      (Chorus)

                           These arachnids may scare you,

Stop and think before you use your shoe,

Most are friendly don't you see,

They help nature, you and me.

                                  (chorus repeat)

            Little Spider

    (Tune:  Are you Sleeping?

     Little Miss Muffet

 Traditional Nursery Rhyme.

            Little spider,

            Little spider,

            Spin your web,

            Spin your web,

Watch her spinning up and down,

In and out and all around,

           Hard at work.

            Hard at work.

 (Words: B.Sarah Froehlich)

     Little Miss Muffet

        Sat on a tuffet,

   Eating her curds and whey.

    Along came a spider,

   Who sat down beside her,

   And frightened Miss Muffet away.

                Spin, Spin, Little Spider

                   Tune:  Ten Little Indians

(From: Animal Piggyback Songs, Totline Books)

                             Spin, spin, little spider

                             Spin, spin, wider, wider,

                             Spin, spin, little spider,

                              Early in the morning.

                          Make your web, little spider

                         Make your web, spider, wider.

                         Make your web, little spider,

                              Early in the morning.

                      Spider, Spider

                            Chant

Pattern of Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear

Spider, spider, way up in the tree,

Make a silk web as pretty as can be.

Spin and weave your net so quick,

So your lunch will stick, stick, stick.

Here comes the insect feel it bump and jiggle,

Move your legs and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

When your work is done you can rest,

Just in time to make a silk sack nest.

                           When Spring time comes

the baby spiders will be born.

They will fly away on a warm, sunny morn.
