Review: Finally, the "dark age" has come to an end! And what a way to begin a new era, too. Besides Maleficent, Ursula, in my opinion, is the best disney villain ever. In some ways she's even better! Maleficent likes to make speeches, and asks her goons or her sparrow, Diablo, to do her dirty work (her last scene aside). Ursula on the other hand, is lively, and eccentric. She doesn't sit around, waiting for some unreliable source to do her "errands," she does it by herself. Sure Flotsam and Jetsam, her sinister eels, bring her Ariel, but after that, it's all up to Ursula. And she does a great job. She's like a door to door salesman, she has charisma, and won't leave you alone until she "sells" her idea. In this case making Ariel a human, but with every good sale comes a catch, Ursula is asking for Ariel's beautiful voice as a payment this time. But that's not the only flaw in this deal, Ariel must kiss the prince by the sun set of the third day of the spell, or else she'll belong to Ursula forever. With the help of the booming and pleasurable voice of Pat Carroll, and fantastic character design by Ruben Aquino and his crew, Ursula is a superb villain.
