3) The Griswold Family Association has spent years and many dollars
reseraching the origin of Edward, Matthew, Thomas, Michael and Francis back
to England. We now believe that Edward is a half brother to Matthew and
Thomas. Their father is George who married Dousable (surname believed to be
LEIGH). Dorothy James belongs to another Griswold (Henry, II), not of this
line.

4) Francis Griswold's father is believed to have been Clement Griswold who
married Lucy HARPER. He would be a third cousin to Edward, Matthew and
Thomas.
