Seagreen

A "seagreen" (or "apple green" in Europe) is a
bird with a single Dutch blue gene and a single whiteface gene. The
result is a greenish bird with the canteloupe forehead of a dutch
blue. It also has a distinguishing upper beak. The top half (toward
the face) will be pink (like that of a whiteface) and the lower half
(towards the tip) will be more of a horn color like a Dutch blue or
green peachface.

Here is a seagreen.
(Remember, this is basically a
Dutch blue bird with a single whiteface factor. Two are needed for a
true whiteface.)

This is a medium seagreen
violet.
(He has a single dark factor,
making his overall body color darker.)
You will notice also that the
bib is much whiter than on a Duttch blue bird, which would have a
cream colored bib.

Here is a close-up of two
seagreens' rumps. The one on the left is a seagreen violet. The one
on the right is a medium seagreen.

And of course, seagreen can be
combined with other mutations. Above is a baby seagreen pied violet.
A very pretty combination, I think. Can't wait til he reaches adult
coloring. He should be stunning.
