Your gourds are so beautiful! We, my husband & I, just had our first growing season this last spring, and found out we did not know anything about gourds when we started. we did manage to raise 22 gourds that we harvested this fall. I feel lucky if I just
get a solid color on one
Comments:
Thanks for sharing your gourds. I am just getting started trying to paint them. This spring I am going to try to grow some.

Really nice site. I am just getting interested in gourds, so I will bookmark and come back soon.

JEANNIE -- I finally got on the site -- what incredibly lovely gourds -- can you tell me what type of gourd seed you planted to get these? I planted gourd seeds myself a couple years ago for the same purpose (painting) but got watermelon-type gourds inst
ad of the hook neck type.

I also paint gourds to sell, love doing flowers too, now if I could get someone to clean all of them, I'd be a happy gourder. Would like to get web site, suggestions? I'm very new with computers. Nice work, but think a lighter backg.
would help.

Your gourds are very pretty.
I paint a little and know how many hours you
must have put into painting just one.
Keep on painting I love to see them.
Comments:
Have been painting Santa gourds for several years, also bird houses. Love gourds - travel
150 miles each fall to gather just the right
shaped ones for my use. Occasionally sell some,
but most end up with family.
Comments:
wow i sure had fun loking at your beautiful gourds. I have grown a few in the past what is your technique for drying and cleaning so they can be painted so beautifully. thanks Laurie
Comments:
I'm a painter who lives much like Linda and enjoys the same things, gardening and flowers and painting from these and I stumbled upon this site whilst painting an armoire on the theme of a gourdvine and inside the doors are painted some of the objects tha
people make from gourds so I came to the web to see examples of these and here I am. So I wanted to tell Linda that I wish I could see all of these in person, the colors look very beautiful, Im not certain from these photos if the flowers may not look a
ittle heavy, if she finds that to be so she might try painting more thinly,a flower is such a light and fragile image and the colors are so fleeting... I hope she will find this useful and not overly critical, I wish only to help in a way that people who
o not paint never can, I wish also to tell her that her composition is absolute perfection!I paint furniture which is also 3 dimensional and I thought I was masterful at wrapping my designs around my shapes but she is just tops! I wish I could see these b
tter, this honeysuckle one looks just otherworldly......

I enjoyed looking at your gourds. I, too, am a gourd artist. I paint or collage large and small gourds, and sometimes weave the tops (I cut most of my gourds). Just recently planted gourds seeds and should have a decent group, I guess, in about a year.
I would like to make contact with other gourd artists. I live in Los Angeles, CA.

Sorry I am not in the buying market. Nonetheless, I must comment that you have beautiful work that shows your artist's inner tranquility. Unfortunately, I am a starving artist -- humor -- a crafter myself.
On another note, my family and I were born and raised in T.C. In fact, my parents, Gene and Shirley Denman, and siblings sill live in the area.
I have been in Davison area over 20 years. My daughter and I are partners in Aunt Sally's Creations. Our cedar and pine birdhouses are made in Tecumseh, MI by my daugher, herself and her fiance, Jon. Our beautiful herb gardens are in Davison, MI where
grow and sell many forms of herbs, some vegetables and perrenials. I have recently started expermenting with herbal vinegars and massaging sensual oils, salves, etc.

Her art work is breathtaking. I also have a few beautiful gourds in my back yard . The birds love them, and so do my neighbors. They are very nice bird houses. |
