"From Our Branch to Yours"

John Sarrett was the son of Joseph Sarrett. John was born in 1760 in Caswell Co., North Carolina.
He married Mary McMurry on March 18, 1783 in Caswell Co., NC.
Mary was born in 1766 in Person Co., North Carolina.

Between 1802 and 1807, Joseph and Mary moved to Tennessee. They first appear in Humphrey Co., Tennessee in the 1830 census.

John Sarrett died died on Sept.7, 1834 in Humphrey Co., Tennessee. (Land that was to become Benton Co., TN in 1836.
(His Will was probated in Dec.of 1834.)
Mary (McMurry)Sarrett died on Oct. 4, 1843 in Benton Co., TN.
My research leads me to believe, they were both buried in an ancient cemetery on BeaverDam Creek in Benton Co., TN and not in the ChalkHill Cemetery as some reports may state to.Notes:refer to the History of the ChalkHill Cemetery section of my main page.
