"THE WARNICK LINE"

(CHEROKEE or CHOCTAW)

The following descendants are known to be of Indian descent.

Dallas Greer, the great, great grand-son of David Warnick, remembers well the stories his grandmother, Lucy (Warnick) George, Greer told him of Benton County, Tennessee.
The family once possessed Indian items that had been passed down through the family. There is no documented proof, but the research I have done proves to me that this WARNICK line was of Indian descent. With time maybe future records will document their tribe. Research done a few years ago by Dallas Greer's father led him to believe that they may have been Cherokee or Choctaw. (The name WARNICK is often spelled Warrick, but it is uncertain if there was any family relation to other Warrick families in Benton Co., TN.)

David Warnick was born in 1790 in North Carolina. He moved to Benton Co., TN between 1840 and 1848.

He was married to Elizabeth (unknown). Elizabeth was born in 1794 in Virginia.

David and his family appear in the Benton Co., TN census in 1850, but they do not appear in the 1860 Benton Co., TN census and there is no further record of them.

David and Elizabeth Warnick had seven known children.

          1. Hiram Warnick was born in 1818 in Tennessee.
          2. William Warnick was born in 1829 in North Carolina.
          3. Eliza Warnick was born in 1831 in Tennessee.
          4. Panlina Warnick was born in 1833 in Tennessee.
          5. Catherine Warnick was born in 1835 in Tennessee.
          6. Rebecca Warnick was born in 1837 in Tennessee.
          7. Nancy Warnick was born in 1840 in Tennessee.

This line is actively being researched & is subject to additions. So please check back often for changes.
