Owning a cat is one of life's little pleasures. I am not saying that it's all fun and games -- there are many responsibilites involved. What amazes me is that even though it is I that takes the cats to the veterinarian and clips their claws, give them baths and cleans their ears -- there is no doubt -- these cats know who their "Mama" is, and they seem to reciprocate the joy and love I share with them all.

Raider is a female Abyssinian mix born on August 1, 1995. She was named "Raider" because the year (and nearly the date) she was born was the year my favorite football team returned to Oakland. Raider has her share of quirks, but she is so special to me!

Eagle was born on approximately May 9th, 1998. She is a black and white smoke mix with some Calico characteristics. It is hard to tell what her roots actually are, as I adopted her from a well-known shelter. She was originally bought to be Raider's buddy, but quickly found her way deep into my heart as well.

Job is a different story altogether. I have desired more than two cats -- actually one suited me just fine -- but THREE?!? Job was stranded up in a tree, near death, badly wounded by a large dog. His recovery was long and difficult for both of us, both financially and emotionally, but he lives today to inspire us all -- he is living testimony that if you want to succeed, you can. He is a little miracle, and is actually the trouble maker of my three babies!
