My name is Mike and I was born March 7th, 1966. I have been an insulin dependant diabetic since 1968. Over the years, I've faced many trials and tribulations.
The biggest challenge I've had to face has been the loss of some eyesight, due to diabetic retinopathy. In 1993, I lost complete sight in my right eye. My left eye has had some decrease in the quality of vision and I've had several periods of total blindness due to hemorrhages. I have had four major eye surgerys and numerous laser treatments done, the last one being in 1995. Since then, the eye disease has regressed. Even though there have been no recent signs of the disease progressing again, I am still at risk of having more hemorrhages.

Living through this ordeal is a journey that involves mind, body and soul. Although modern medicine can do what it can for the body, they can't do much for the mind and soul. In the search to heal these two areas, I have turned to many things. God, prayer, herbs and nature are the main forces that help me emotionally and spiritually. The impact of these have even helped me physically. In this web site, I want to share with you the things that have helped me in healing. I hope that it may be useful to anyone who suffers from illness, loss or lifes little bomb shells that can drop on us from time to time.
