Abecedarian Academy Homepreschool

A BRAG PAGE I'll Just Call It What It Is

These are nice things people wrote to me about my Web site. Some comments are from my old guestbook and some are from email. Getting email from people who surf by is one of the fun things about having a web page!

From Robin

Dear Shawn:

First of all, I want to say that when I found your Abecedarian website, I felt like I had uncovered a diamond in a great big pile of rocks. I have a 21 month old toddler and have been planning to homeschool her since before she was born. Your site has given me lots to think about and consider, as well as provided some direction as we get closer to the 2's and closer to learning things like shapes and colors.

Thanks again for providing a wonderful resource for other "homepreschoolers," and I wish you much luck and continued success.

Sincerely,
Robin

PS: I am looking forward to growing with you, as you progress from preschool to kindergarten to elementary grades! I'll be watching to see what you try with Julian so that I can copy your successes with my Carrie!

New! From my little sister who finally visited my site after it had been up for a full year.

Hi!
What an impressive web site!! It's so fun to browse through the pictures, there are so many simple things out there to explore with our kids that we overlook. As adults, we need to realize that so much more is seen through a child's eyes. We might think, "Oh, those are just some smelly farm animals," or "That's just a dirty pond in a little corner park," but to a child it's a whole new world. And the beauty is that when you take them there, sometimes we are lucky and get a glimpse of what they see! What a blessing! Wouldn't it be nice to see each day that way? Just think how much more we would enjoy our lives if we could see through the eyes of a child!

Thanks for the new perspective!
I love you,
Your Sister--Colleen

Thank you for taking the time to help others, your site is excellent, easy to navigate, lots of helpful links and well written summaries!! How fortunate I was to come across it. I will pass it on right after I bookmark it.

Shawn, I just looked at your site for the first time, and I just want you to know that I am so IMPRESSED! I have been looking for something like this for a while now. I can't believe how concise everything is. Just wanted to say thanks for having it and doing such a great job!

From Lindy

This is a great page--You did a fine job putting together a friendly place to learn. As an old homeschooler with five kids age two to sixteen, I see so many people begging to know how I do what I do. They need more friendly, non threatening information not more books to buy. I'm not saying the books don't have valid information--just that most are unnecessary. Quality time, love, encouragement, fun!!!! "We love Jesus" is our motto and we made a banner for our door with our school name and motto. We have unity--my children will never wonder if they were loved or wanted. God Bless your efforts. Keep up the good work!

From Liz

Wow, what a GREAT page!!!! I knew of homeunschooling but merging the idea with preschool never crossed my mind. HATS OFF to you and your exceptional family!

From D. Young

Great Site. I found my stay quite enjoyable. You have a very sharp looking site with lots to offer your visitors.

From Rachel

Wonderful site. I read all of your pages. :) I will come back again. I am going to homeschool when I have children. In fact, I don't even have any yet and I am right now laying out plans for it! I guess thinking ahead can't hurt.

From Crystal

I have been coming to your site for quite a while and haven't signed the guest book yet so I figured it was about time. I must tell you that I am so glad that this site is here and it really is very helpful and I enjoy it very much. I also have a two year old son and we started our homepreschool just this month with the new year . I have spent the last 4 months or so reading everything I could about homeschooling and was very happy to find your site with so much just about twos and preschool. It has helped me a lot. Since we are just getting started I am still always looking for more info so keep up the good work and I will continue to check for updates.

From Betty

I did home preschool with all three of my children, now age 24, 17, and 14. I loved it! I have always been a stay-at-home Mom.

From Jessica

I found your site through the Mining Co. (About.com) and boy am I glad I did! This is *exactly* the information I have been looking for. You have a beautifully done site with wonderful insight and information. Our son is 16 mo. old now and I have been researching homeschooling for a little while now. This is by far the best personal webpage regarding the subject that I have run across. Good luck to you and thanks for your effort!

From Andrea

I am hsing a 13yr old & have a 2 year old who is very precocious.I didn't know anything was available for preschool aged kids until now. Thanks loads.

From Laura

Great job! I have 3 children 4 and under and just started "homepreschool" this week. It is going really well. My oldest thinks he is big stuff now!!!! Thanks for your hard work on your page! In Him, Laura

From Natalie

A really cool page. I plan to get married and have twins someday. When they are two years old, I will need all this good advice and ideas.

From my Mom

I may be slightly prejudiced, but I think this is an outstanding site. That's not strictly because I am your Mother, although it does have some bearing on my opinion. It is colorful...so appealing to the eye. It is chock full of information. And - it is well written. I learned something myself. "Awhile" is a word - it's in the dictionary. I was positive it should have been two words! How-some-ever, you have split an infinitive. Change "pare LAH down" to "pare down" and I will be totally satisfied. Thanks for the name credit - it's such a grand name! And keep up the excellent work. Looking at the result, I hope your visitors with preschoolers will be as proud and full of wonder at the development of their children as I am of you. Love, Mom

These ones are about my family pages

From Reiko

I've really enjoyed reading your stories. I thinik (sorry my 11 month old is helping me type) your story is incredible. That is soo incredible that you have a baby. I'm soo excited for you that the Lord would go to such great lengths to capture your attention. He has such wonderful things planned for us. I'm a Stay At Home Mom of a 5 year old girl and a 11 month old boy. I live in Sonora which is close to Yosemite and very much enjoy reading birth stories. I'm studying to become a doula and am sort of apprenticing with a home birth midwife. Thanks for writing your story and letting me look at your beautiful baby.

From Fred

Great page, Shawn!!! Your site gives significant meaning to the phrase, "Choose Life!"

From Tammy

What a GREAT site! I really enjoyed all the great info. I have two little ones; Kelli, 26 months, and Noah, 9 months, and plan on homeschooling. The Vasectomy Story blew me away. My husband just had this surgery eight weeks ago. Can't wait to tell him this story. God Bless.

From Jackie

Hi there! I have to tell you that I am sitting here in shock over your husband's vasectomy reversing itself after 17 years. My dh just had a vasectomy 6 weeks ago. Yikes - now I'm scared! Anyway glad that things worked out for you guys and that you are able to view Julian as a blessing! He is absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your page!!

From Crystal

Hey there, what a WONDERFUL site! I enjoyed "The Vasectomy Story" (Incredible!) and the "Birth Story." Julian is a doll! I found your site through a webring (May Moms I think?!) Great Job! Have a wonderful day!
