"Clarisa Jacqueline Conley" died shortly after birth Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

She is survived by her: parents, Kevin J. and Teesha K. (Stewart) Conley; grandparents, Teresa (Kidman) Stewart of Dowagiac, Michigan and Michael (Kathy) Conley of Berkley; great-grandparents, Anna (Lewandowski) Kidman of Dowagiac, Michigan, Harry and Ruth Drake of Toledo, Ohio; four aunts; four uncles; and two cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Terrence Kidman in 1995 and Wayne Conley in 1988.

Funeral services were at 1:00pm today at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ele's Place (Link), a center for grieving children in Lansing, Michigan.

 

 

 

"Lawrence Milton (Pudd) Keller, Jr."

"Lawrence Milton (Pudd) Keller, Jr.", 81, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Dowagiac Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to the late Bessie (Reynolds) and Lawrence Milton Keller, Sr.

 

On Sept. 13, 1947, at Bethel Community Church near Cassopolis, Mich., he married Rosann Stamp. His wife survives, along with: five children, Lawrence M. Keller III (Bruce Kanarek) of Chicago, Ill., Tim (Triena) Keller of Lawrence, Mich., Nathan (Irene) Keller of Ramona, Calif., Mary Ann (Ted) Tate of Evergreen, Colo., and Linda (Pete) Preston of Dowagiac, Mich.; nine grandchildren, T. J. (Shelby) Keller of Bossier City, La., Steve (Jennifer) Keller of Decatur, Ben Keller of Chico, Calif., Gennie Keller of San Diego, Calif., Carey Tate of San Enselmo, Calif., Alex Tate of Evergreen, Colo., and Sam, Chelsey and Christina Preston, all of Dowagiac, Mich.; two great-grandchidren, Christopher Keller of Decatur, Mich. And Shalyn Keller of Bossier City; and four sisters and one brother, Jeanette Martin, Dorothy Dreher and Harry Keller, all of Niles, Mich., Kathryn Barnard of Normal, Ill., and Virginia McCarthy of Benton Harbor, Mich.

Two brothers, Eugene Keller and John Keller preceded him in death, both of Dowagiac, Mich.

Mr. Keller was awarded the Bronze Star for his meritorious achievements in ground combat during World War II, serving in both the Asian and Pacific theaters.

He was a founding member of the Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department, a longtime member of Community Grange 1475 in Sumnerville, a member of Dowagiac Elks Lodge 889 and a member of Silver Creek-Keller United Methodist Church of Dowagiac, Mich.

He had been employed by Modineer Co. for 28 years and had also worked for Clark Equipment Co., both in Niles, Mich., before entering military service.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home. Rev. Virginia L. Heller of Silver Creek-Keller United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnnerville, Mich.

Friends may call at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Community Grange or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

"Rosann Keller", 73, of Dowagiac, Mich., died Thursday morning, April 29, 1999, at Lee Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1925, in Cassopolis, Mich. to Frank J. and Jessie Stamp.

She married Lawrence Keller, Jr. on September 13, 1947, at Bethel Community Church in Cassopolis. Mich.

Mrs. Keller belonged to Community Grange, Daughters of the American Revolution and Sliver Creek-Keeler United Methodist Church.

She graduated from St. Camillus School of Nursing at Borgess Hospital in 1947 as a registered nurse.

She was also known as an avid gardener.

Mrs. Keller is survived by: five children, Lawrence M. Keller III (Bruce Kanarek) of Chicago, Ill., Tim (Triena) Keller of Lawrence, Mich., Nathon (Irene) Keller of Ramona, Calif., Mary Ann (Ted) Tate of Evergreen, Colo., and Linda (Pete) Preston of Dowagiac, Mich.; nine grandchildren, T.J. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Lawrence M. Keller II on March 6, 1999; a brother, Joseph Stamp; and a sister, Mae Labadie.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today, May 3, 1999, at Silver Creek-Keller United Methodist Church with Rev. Viginia L. Heller officiating.

Burial followed at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnnerville, Mich. Friends called at Mclauchlin-Clark Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek-Keller United Methodist Church.

"Maxine M. (Kidman) Brosnan", 71, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, Mich., died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1927, in Dowagiac, Mich., to Francis (Frank) and Clara (Fritz) Kidman. On Oct. 19, 1946, in Dowagiac, Mich., she married Tom Brosnan, who survives.

Surviving besides her husband are: a son, Tom (Debra) Brosnan II of Jackson, Mich.; seven daughters, Clara (Albert) Waldenmaier of Eau Claire, Mich., Betty (Ken) Muirhead of Dowagiac, Mich., Joann Stockwell of Dowagiac, Mich., Diane (Ronnie) Sloan of Dowagiac, Mich., Anita (Harry) Beach of Dowagiac, Mich., Peggy (Bob) warmbein of New Troy, Mich. and Sally (Mark) Swartz of Dowagiac, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marvel (Clifford) DeGraff of Dowagiac, Mich., Kathleen (Ted) Krizinski of Dowagiac, Mich. and Yvonne (Fred) Bournay of Dowagiac, Mich.

Her parents, Frank and Clara (Fritz) Kidman; two sisters, Delores Kidman and Annette (Kidman) Deming; two brothers, George Kidman and Terry Kidman preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Silver Creek Township.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., with rosary scheduled at 7:30.

 

 

 

 

"Verna L. (Hungerford) Fritz"

"Mrs. Verna Loretta (Hungerford) Fritz", 87, of Atwood Road, Dowagiac, Michigan died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at the Dowagiac Nursing Home after a brief illness.

She was born, June 10, 1910, in Dowagiac, Michigan-County of Cass, daughter of Fred and Daisy (Kidman) Hungerford.

In April 1927, she married Leon Fritz. He preceded her in death in 1975.

Surviving are; a son, Virgil (Betty) Fritz of Dowagiac, Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Susan) Komosa of Dowagiac, Michigan; three sisters; Juanita Fisher and Kathryn Stanley, both of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Beverly Yesh of Quincy, Michigan; and three brothers; Ronald Hungerford of St. Joseph, Michigan, Harvey Hungerford of Three Rivers, Michigan and Corless Hungerford of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fritz retired from James Heddon's Sons, where she worked more then 20 years.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Mclauchlin-Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Murphy of Federated Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be an hour before the service.

 

 

 

"Steve J. Szymonski"

"Steve J. Szymonski", 72, of Klumbis Street, Dowagiac, Mich., died Wednesday morning, March 27, 1996 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, Mich., after an illness.

Mr. Szymonski, who owned and operated Steve's Sand and Gravel Co. of Dowagiac, Mich., was born December 21, 1923, in Dowagiac, Mich., son of Joseph and Louella (Probst) Szymonski.

On January 29, 1944, in Buchanan, Mich., he married Alice Mosier.

His wife survives, along with: three sons, Bob, Mike, and Dell; two daughters, Julie Dewey and Pam (Bob) krizinski, all of Dowagiac, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are: seven sisters, Rose Newton of Mottville, Mich., Doris Bischoff of Grand Ledge, Mich., Marie Hemmingway of Decatur, Mich., Thelma Waldschmidt of Dowagiac, Mich., Nancy Dohm of Dowagiac, Mich., Mary High of Decatur, Mich., and Margaret Dooley of Elkhart, Ind.; and two brothers, Walter of Princeton, La. And John Szymonski of New Underwood, S.D.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m., at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Dowagiac, Mich., with the Rev. David Helmuth officiating.

Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, Michigan.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church on M-62 west of Dowagiac, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cass and Van Buren counties.
