In September 1998 we had the honor of going to Washington D.C. for the National March to Conquer Cancer with 19 other Candlelighter members and the Washington State Childhood Cancer Awareness Quilts. We met with our state senators and representatives, taking a strong message that more funding needs to go into finding a cure for childhood cancer.

We spent lots of time with our friends, the Omans. Their daughter Kelly, pictured in the blue dress, also had Wilm's tumor. She was originally diagnosed with Stage IV Wilm's and has been off treatment for over one year relapse-free! Yeah!

We had a great time in D.C. -- even if it was a lot of work and a whirlwind tour! We also got to meet alot of the people who Laura emails from around the country!
