It all started on June 6th 2000 Tuesday the day we scheduled the amnio after begging the Dr the Tuesday before. Anyways it was scheduled for early morning I was 38 weeks Pregnant and just huge. Well we had a tentative C-Section schedule time for 8 am on Wednesday the 7th of June if all goes well with the amnio. I was really starting to worry about the amnio they say you can have cramping and there is a risk of infection. But I was a little to impatient to wait any longer. (I would have only had to wait 1 week.) Ha Ha! Well the amnio was done and the fluid was very clear Yipee. (Sky's fluid was not) They sent me home and said they would call me with the results. So I waited and waited and waited then I waited some more. Finally my mom called from Spokane and asked if we had heard yet it was like 5 or 6 pm. I said no. She said " Call them, sometimes they don't call you back with the results." So I called. The Nurse said The amnio came out great her lungs were completely mature the Dr will see you tomorrow morning. Oh my gosh did I ever scream with such happiness and excitement. I immediatly called my mom and dad in Spokane so they could start driving over. Its a 4 to 5 hour drive over the mountains. So they were packing and on there way. I packed my bag and was ready in 10 minutes. After waiting up for my parents to show up we visited till about 1am and then Paulie and I stayed up till 2 am talking about how exciting it was. Finally we passed out purely from exhaustion. Then we woke up at 4am. Showered and dressed and headed to Puyallup to arrive at our scheduled 5 am prep time. It was a long time getting ready for the c-section. The nurse that I registered at the hospital with on Tuesday the day I did the amnio came in an hour early to help me get ready. What a sweetheart. She was very touched by our story of Sky's death and how scared we were that everything needed to be perfect this time around. Paulie was with me then his cousin showed up Tammy. I asked her to video tape the whole thing. I did not want to miss anything. Then Lynn our therapist was there to help us if we needed any support with memories of our first daughter Sky's birth. 8am came around I was ready and very nervous but excited just a lot of adrenalin running through my veins. Well they took me in to get my spinal block and 10 to 15 min later Dr Eun showed up to deliver our baby. The whole thing took like 15 minutes once they started. Lilly cried as soon as she came out. It made Paulie and myself cry too. It was the sweetest thing I could have ever have heard in my life. And from there we have hardly put the girl down. She will probably never walk or start very late. Ha Ha!!!! Well that is the story. Thanks for having an interest. Love, Bryant family |
