Rich Tea Biscuits
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp.baking powder
1 tbsp. white sugar
4 generous tbsp. shortening
1/2 cup milk

-Cut shortening into dry mixture.
-Add milk (1/2 cup) to make soft dough.
-Turn out onto floured board. Kneed gently.
-Roll out and cut with large round cookie cutter.
-Bake for 10-15 min. at 375-400F on a greased cookie sheet.
*** These biscuits are wonderful served with strawberries and cream as mini shortcakes! My mother's church have a "strawberry social" every spring and serve them that way.
