Charity and Ellen Cockett - Charity married David PARRY at St Wilfred's Church, Grappenhall on 5 August 1821. The witnesses were Thomas MATTHEWS and Ellen COCKETT. Ellen's signature in the parish register matches that of the Ellen COCKETT who married Samuel HILL at Lymm on 27 September 1835. It looks as if Charity Cockett's marriage was witnessed by her sister Ellen, and Ellen herself married at Lymm 14 years later. The proximity of Grappenhall and Lymm to Lostock Gralam, the birthplace of Charles Cockitt (1770-1835),  seems to indicate a family connection, but the evidence is purely circumstantial.

Mary Cocket married John THOMASON at Great Budworth "with the consent of parents" on 9 January 1818. If this the illegitimate grand-daughter of Charles and Mary Cockitt of Lostock Gralam, who was baptised at Witton (Northwich) on 13 December 1795, was it therefore John THOMASON who was under age?
