Husband's NotesAt the time of the Revolutionary War Adam and his brother John Maffett were living about halfway between Beesontown ( now Uniontown ) and Redstone Old Fort ( now Brownsville ) Pennsylvania. This area was soon after the war organized into Menhallen Township, Fayette County, where they are listed on the tax lists in the 1780's. John Maffett served in the Revolution in the Pennsylvania Militia; he later moved to Harrison County Kentucky where he died in 1833. Adam Maffett moved from Fayette County Pennsylvania to Ohio (now Brooke County W. Virginia ) in 1791. He was accidentally killed on September 18, 1799, as a result of " a log falling on him while helping raise a house". Brooke County, Va. Court Records: Coroners Inquest, September 19, 1799.![]()
