Hi John,
I don't have anything the Hughes you mentioned but here is all that I do have along with notes and references. Hope this is not too long for AOL. Also hope it doesn't print junk at the end. Some services do not translate the information at the end of these files correctly. Let me know if you need any clarification. Also if you know anything about these people.

BOOK - Haywood County, North Carolina
Story #400 Margaret Hughes and George Cunningham
George Cunningham was born in York County, South Carolina on March 7, 1778. His father was Revolutionary War soldier George Cunningham who is buried in the Cullowhee Church Cemetery in Jackson County, N.C. George's grandfather was Humphrey Cunningham of Buncombe County, N.C.
George's parents moved to North Carolina around 1790. They lived in Burke County before moving to land in Buncombe County in 1792. It was about this time that George's mother died.
In 1803, George Cunningham Sr. and his new wife moved from Buncombe County to Haywood County. He was granted 320 acres on Scott Creek.
His son, George married Margaret Hughes in Haywood County in 1809. She was the daughter of Jhn and Margaret Dickey Hughes. Her father had purchased part of the original Cunningham property from George Cunningham Sr. in 1806. George Sr. may have been anticipating a move to Tennessee. In 1808, he sold the remainder of his land. In 1810, he moved to Bedford County, Tennessee leaving George Jr. in Haywood County.
The children of George and Margaret wee: 1) George Lewis Cunningham, born October 12, 1809. He married Sarah Allen. 2) Margaret W. Cunningham, born March 14, 1811. She married Joseph Keener. 3) Mary Jane Cunningham, born March 12, 1815. She married Robert Bryson. 4) Robert Cunningham, born in 1816. H married Louise Reece. 5) Sarah Cunningham, born about 1818. She apparently never married. 6) John Cunningham, born in 1820. He married Druzilla Ellender Parris and they later divorced. 7) Aaron Patton Cunningham, born December 29, 1821. Aaron married Sarah G., maiden name unknown. They had one child, Margaret J. Cunningham. Sarah probably died shortly after 1851 and Aaron married Rhoda Saunders. She was the daughter of Curtis and Sarah Moffitt Saunders. 8) Elizabeth Cunningham born in 1825. She married James N. Brendle.
There appears to have been at least three other children born to George and Margaret, but their name have not been determined.
In 1830, George and Margaret were living in Haywood County with eleven children. They were living on Scott Creek in 1835 when George voted in the Congressional election. In 1840, there were five children in their home. The youngest child was a male, less than fifteen years old.
In 1843, George Cunningham deeded one hundred acres to his daughter Sarah M. Cunningham. This land was located on the waters of Scott Creek known as the Stillhouse Branch. Son in law, Joseph Keener, was a witness to this deed.
George Cunningham died in 1845. His estate was inventoried by Joseph Keener and reported in the September session of court in Haywood County, N.C. He was buried in the Keener Cemetery, in presend day Jackson County, N.C. The WPA Graves Registration reported that his grave was marked with a wooden grave marker, which has been lost.
Margaret Hughes Cunningham lived for eighteen more years and died on October 27, 1863. She was also buried in the Keener Cemetery with other Cunningham family members.
