Sow radishes in early September for a fall crop.
You can do the same with lettuce and other fast growing, cold-loving vegetables.

Ripe pumpkins may be left on the vine until harvest time, if not subject to a heavy freeze.
Or they may be picked and stored indefinitely in a cool (50 to 55 degrees F) dry spot.
A garage or cellar will do.

Feed your lawn now to promote root growth.

Nothing quite brightens up September like a stand of wild New England asters.

Start new strawberry beds by digging up runners and transplanting them to the new site.
Don't disturb the roots too much and keep plenty of soil around them.
