Bread Dough

One simple method of dough is to take:

Place these materials in a cup of some sort and thoroughly mix these components.

After these items are mixed then knead the dough by hand until it has a even smooth texture which should take about 5 minutes. If you want to have colored dough then you can add food coloring to the mixture.

This mixture will make approximately six roses and ten leaves or three small cookie cutouts. If any of the dough is unused then it can be stored in the refrigerator in any type of airtight container for up to one week.

PROJECT # 1 Cookie Cutter Ornaments roll dough out evenly but not to thin, dust the cookie cutters with flour not to much thou this helps the dough from sticking to the cutters. Now you can start making your ornaments by placing the cookie cutter on the dough press firmly this would make a better dentation on the dough. If the dough is caught then tap the cutter with a spoon this helps the shape to fall out. When you have all the ornaments cut out place them on a piece of wax paper and another piece on top of the ornaments, place an object on the ornaments this prevents them from curley( I used a lite bread board).

These ornaments takes 2 days to dry .Leave ornaments dry overnight then turn them the next day on the other side when they completely dry you can now start to paint them. After the ornaments are dry put a coat of acrylic varnish to seal them. You can glue a piece of felt on the back of the ornaments if you wish. Also these ornaments make great gift tags or broaches. They would sell great at a craft fair or flee market. I made a wack of these ornaments myself and they look great on my tree!

I hope you have fun making these lovely ornaments

I sure did!

Hint: To keep the dough from sticking to your hands you should use hand lotion and on the stir stick if you use one.
