
Votive Candle Holder
Materials Needed
- Cat Food or Tuna Can(1-1/2" high x 3-1/4" diameter)
- Can Opener
- Permanent Marker
- Metric Ruler
- Tin Snips
- Spray Paint
- Votive-type Candle
Step-by-step Instructions
- Measure around the can and divide into 8 equal sections ( EX-> 16cm
= 1 mark every 2 cm.'s)
- Mark a dot on the rim for each of the sections, and mark dots on the
bottom of the can at midpoints between the dots on the rim.
- Using a can opener, turned sideways, cut off the of the can.
- With your tin snips, cut a slightly curved path between the dots at
the top to the dots at the base. This forms petals.
- Bend the individual petals back carefully to form a flower shape. Alternately,
bending one up and one down.
- Using spray paint; paint the holder. This also seals the tin to prevent
rusting.
- After the paint dries, put a votive-type candle in the center of the
can.
This is a cute project, I made a set of them myself.
