212. EFFIE KENNEDY (photo) was born on Dec 23 1889 in Statesboro, Bulloch, Ga.. She died on Apr 17 1968 in St. Joseph Hospital, Savannah, Ga.. She was buried on Apr 19 1968 in Lower Lots Creek Bapt. Church Cemetery Bulloch Co. at 3:30 P.M.. Effie raised all the kids by herself after Virgil was committed to a mental Institution. When Virgil died she never remarried. The last few years of her life lived with daughter Lila and then her son, Lehman. She died from heart attack. She was a member of the Atlantic Primitive Baptist Church.

She was married to VIRGIL LAFAYETTE AKINS (son of WILLIS R. AKINS and SUSANNAH A. WILLIAMS) in 1906. VIRGIL LAFAYETTE AKINS (photo) was born on Jul 28 1883 in Statesboro, Bulloch, Ga.. He died on Oct 19 1957 in Millegevlle Ga.. He was buried in Lower Lots Creek Bapt. Church Cemetery Bulloch Co.. He had a Farm in Bulloch County west of Statesboro On the west side of Old Riggs Mill. Road He developed mental problems in the late 1920's or early 30's and spent the rest of his life in Millidgeville Mental Hospital. Lillie told me that Virgil's other name was Lafayette. Church Cemetery Bulloch Co. at 11:00 P.M.. When she got married they lived around Statesboro Ga. then moved to Savannah Ga, After Lenard died she lived with her children. Her last few years she lived with Lila Lee.

She was buried on Oct 17 1989 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Savannah, Ga. 2:00 P.M.. She was christened in Atlantic Primitive Baptist Church. was born and raised on a farm above Statesboro where she met and Married Robert Felton Lee. The marriage was witnessed by Alma Akins, Denver Deal and Martle McCorkle. They moved to Savannah. she was a homemaker and worked for Hogans Dep. Store southeast corner of Barnard and Broughton when they first got married. The last years of her life she developed Parkinson disease an went to live with her daughter Bobbie Joyner In Franklin Va. where died from it.
