Stone Texture

Here's how to make this background:

  1. Open new image, 75 by 75, with white background. Add Noise (Image, Noise, Add), Properties: 60%, Random.

  2. Apply Gray Scale (Colors, Gray Scale). Increase Color to 16 million (Colors, Increase Color Depth, 16 million Colors).

  3. Erode Image (Image, Other, Erode). Adjust Brightness, Contrast (Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast) Properties: Brightness: 30, Contrast: -40.

  4. Add a New Layer (name it color).

    • Optional: You can save the graphic at this point as a Paint Shop Pro Image, and you can use it as much as you want, adding the color that you want.

  5. Choose a foreground color, and flood fill the Color Layer. Set the Opacity Slider on the Color Layer to whatever texture you like. I set mine to 75.

  6. Click on the Background Layer, then Sharpen More (Image, Sharpen, Sharpen More), and you're done.
