These two offices have birth and death records since January 1914 for the entire state. For Chatanooga, records are available from 1882, for Knoxville from July 1881, and for Nashville from June 1881. Marriage and divorce records are available from July 1945. Call (615) 741-1763 for costs. For marriage records, also check with the County Clerk in the County where the license was issued. For divorce records, also check the Clerk of the Court in the County where the divorce was granted.
