July 31, 2005 -- We were informed by a classmate that Kendra (Kacie) Chinn Schedeler passed away on July 23, 2005. Below is her obituary as it appeared in the Stockton Record newspaper.

Kendra G. "Kacie" Schedeler

May 10, 1959 - July 23, 2005

Kendra G. "Kacie" Schedeler, age 46 of Stockton, CA died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her residence. She was born on May 10, 1959 in Stockton, CA. She was a life long resident of Stockton. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Schedeler of Stockton, married 5 years; son, Zachary Gartiser of Stockton; parents, Ken and Gloria Chinn of Stockton and Best-Friend, Mindy Sassman of Elk Grove, CA.

Visitation: None. Family Services will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca, CA


We were informed in July, of the passing of our principal, CT Haan. Below is his obituary. He was a great man.

Collins Taylor Haan

Oct. 10, 1918 - Jan. 23, 2005

Collins Taylor (CT) Haan , former principal of Stagg High School, passed away January 23, 2005, after a brief illness. He was 86 years old. CT was born in Sherwood, North Dakota, October 10, 1918 to the late Guy and Lillian Haan. After graduating from high school in Sherwood, CT continued his education, obtaining a teaching degree in Minot, North Dakota. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a pilot instructor during W.W.II. CT met Helyne Busse in Los Angeles and they were married on November 24, 1945. He continued his higher education by obtaining his Masters in Education from UCLA, where he later served as area alumni president. CT began teaching at Sweetwater High School in San Diego, CA. He moved to Sunnyvale. CA. to become the Vice Principal at Sunnyvale High School, and later became the Principal at Fremont High School also in Sunnyvale.

In 1967 CT become the Principal of a brand new school being built in Saugus, CA., Canyon High School. He later went on to accept the position of Superintendent of the Newhall Unified School District, the school district in which Canyon High was located. CT soon realized how much he missed interacting with students, so he resigned his position and moved his family to Stockton in 1971 to become the principal of Stagg High School, where he remained until he retired in 1979. During his tenure as an educator he also taught band, coached basketball and golf teams. In the summers he and Helyne organized and led many groups of high school students through Europe, and have remained close to many of them through the years. Throughout his educational career he was highly regarded by his colleagues as an innovator. His concepts of curriculum reform and high school organization are still being used today. CT was involved in many community and service organizations, including the Elks and Kiwanis Clubs, The Masons and The Lodi Rock Club. He remained active in retirement. He and Helyne loved to travel, wintering for many years in Bahia Kino, Mexico. They used their travel trailer throughout the United States, including a memorable trip to Alaska and the Arctic Circle. CT was a man of many hobbies and an avid rock hound. He spent many hours with his lapidary equipment producing beautiful jewelry for family and friends. He was a passionate fisherman, golfer, gardner, card player and raconteur. He was a devoted grandfather, always finding time to be with and at his grandchildren's events. His likable personality and great sense of humor helped make and keep friends throughout the world.

CT is preceded in death by his beloved wife Helyne and his son Steven G. Haan.

He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Roscelli (Dr. Steven Roscelli) of Stockton and Lorel Boas (Peter Boas) of Colfax, CA. His four grandchildren; Bonnie Roscelli, Amy, Seth and Jasper Boas. His brother Verl G. Haan of Stanfield, Ore, His sisters; Jean Hewlett of Medford, Ore., Marnie Amaro of Selma, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shore- line Dr., Stockton, CA. No viewing or visitation.

January 13, 2004 - We were informed by a classmate that David Payne passed away on Jan. 3, 2004. Below is what was reported in the local newspaper, The Record.

May 12, 1959 - January 3, 2004

David Eben Payne, 44, passed away in Stockton, CA on Saturday, January 3, 2004.

David was born in Lodi, CA and lived most of his life in Stockton. David graduated from Stagg High School and attended U.C. San Diego. He was a member of the 1975 Stockton Hall of Fame Football teams. His love of sports continued as he coached football for Franklin and Stagg High Schools. He was a former referee for football games, and he also coached little league for his sons' baseball teams.

David leaves behind his sons, Ross and Cameron Payne of Stockton, whom he loved so much; his parents, Edgar and Betty Payne of Russel-ville, AR; sisters, Crystal Thomas of Stockton, Cillie Murphy of Clark Fork, ID and a brother Bob Stein-wand of Fresno. David also leaves behind some wonderful friends who have been extremely helpful and supportive.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
