Guildford
Guildhall
High Street

The old cobbled High Street was the heart of the medieval town. On the north side was the north town ditch (now the modern North Street) and to the south (now Sydenham road/Castle street) the south town ditch. The current facade of the Guildhall, along with its famous clock was built onto the front of an Elizabethan hall in 1683. Until 1931 Guildford Corporation met here. The Guildhall is open to the public on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
