Railroad Officer W.D. McClintock was summoned to McElhattan early Sunday morning by the station agent, who reported that four young men from this city - Arthur Snyder, John Ryan, Walter B. Probst and Floyd Newberry - had taken a quantity of hard cider or near vinegar from a resident of that place named Thomas and having imbibed freely of the same, became intoxicated and had been disturbing the peace of the residents near the station all night. Officer McClintock was accompanied by county Detective W. H. Myers, and the two officers arrested the four young men and brought them to this city and placed them in jail. All were released later on payment of a fine and costs amounting to $9.00 each.
